We were lucky enought to be able to explore the house after dinner
Journaling: Arriving at the entrance, our hostess Sondra thoughtfully seated us in the library as it was quieter - they were having a large group in the main room. Kari was our waitress and was wonderful. There were many books and items on display and a portrait of Joseph Davis hung on the wall. After our wonderful meal we were invited to look around the home. Today the antebellum home is handsomely furnished with fine antiques and art representing the late 1700s to the mid-1800s. Sondra answered any questions we had. We were even able to go on the second floor balcony which was the place from which Jefferson Davis greeted people while visiting his brother in 1869.
