Mom treated me to dinner at her local Japanese restaurant for my birthday. It was a little sad.she was a bit upset that she didnt have anything to give me (though just being together was a gift!) and we were both missing my dad, who made every occasion extra special. He always went the extra mile when it came to my birthday. But I know he was with us in spirit. The first year, I think, is going to be the hardest as we go through each milestone and holiday.
