Even SamSam knew that I needed a little extra love on my birthday this year.

I finally made a dent in a huge pack of 1"x1" squares I had picked up over a decade ago at a scrapbook fair. (Might have been even longer - it was before hand-cranked die cutting machines were affordable - and you would purchase actual die cut shapes (I still have balloons and pencils) for, like 20 cents from rows and rows of bins at AC Moore.) Time to get them used I guess.
