Today I’m sharing my take on the Magical Mixed Media Challenge using my August Crafty Maven Getaway kit!

For the background, I pulled out two different acrylic paints along with the Perfect Pearls from the kit. I used the natural sponge to apply the paint, creating lots of fun texture and movement across the page. I love how imperfect and artsy the background turned out.

I also incorporated several goodies from the Premium Kit, including the wood pieces and 3D elements, and used the sketch as inspiration for my design. All of those different textures add so much interest while still keeping the photos as the focus.

This was definitely one of those layouts where I just played with the supplies, experimented a little, and let the page come together as I went. Sometimes those are the most fun layouts to create!
