Last year my husband got very ill. This was just after his first visit to the doctor on our island who examined him and said “You need to go to the ER in Ketchikan. Get on the next plane!” When you live on an island you can’t drive off of those words are pretty scary! We met this float plane at the dock about a mile from our home and I put him on the plane not knowing what would happen. I took the ferry over the next morning. Little did we know this was just the beginning. I’m so very grateful for all the wonderful medical care he got and that he’s doing great now!
