My newest SIL at his promotion to Captain. It wasn't until near their wedding date, that we realized his pinning was exactly one year to the day before their wedding. Unbeknownst to my dd, I knew that when he asked her to pin his bars, that he was already planning to ask her to marry him. Pinning promotion ceremonies are reserved for moms, wives and fiances. Since they had only been dating for two months at this point, he was very sure of their relationship already.
