Journaling reads: Cindy asked me if I wanted to come to the bus stop to see Maddie get on the bus on her first day of Kindergarten. I was thrilled and so happy to be able to be there for this milestone moment in Maddie’s life. Maddie had been anticipating going to Kindergarten all summer, and she was so happy and excited on that morning and not at all afraid to go. I brought my camera with me, and as her mommy and daddy and I waited for the bus with her we had a photo shoot. After a while we saw the bus coming and realized that we were on the wrong side of the street so we all crossed over to the other corner. Maddie was so excited with anticipation as she saw the bus coming down the street, stopping at other corners and picking up other children along the way. When it arrived she got right on it, with her mommy and daddy getting on for a moment too. After they had her settled on the bus, they got off and the door closed and the bus pulled away. And as it did my eyes filled with tears. I just couldn’t believe my sweet little granddaughter was actually going off to school for the very first time.
