When I See You Smile
by ToniscrapsSep 19, 2006
This is my youngest, Jared, playing in the pool. He loves to swim. I used some my favorite papers BG Urban Couture, BG undressed chipboard, Twill ribbon that I sewed and stamped, acrlic paint (around the photo), a zipper pull (attached to the journaling that pulls from behind the picture) and tons of ribbons on the heart. I cut the heart from cardstock. I also used buttons.
The journaling reads: The journaling is hand written on paper and pulls from behind the picture with the zipper pull. It reads: "When I see you smile, all the disappointment, sorrow, regret and worry disappear. The twinge of disappointment I felt when I was first told I was having a boy. We wanted a girl so badly; but the disappointment only lasted a nano second, for I knew you were God's plan for me and what a perfect plan it is. The sorrow I felt when you took your first step, because I knew from that moment on, with each step you take, you'll be walking farther and farther away from me and closer towards the life you will lead as an adult. The regret I feel each time I look through your baby pictures and realize I will never again rock you to sleep or push you in your stroller or wake up to the sounds of your happy baby gibberish, for you have outgrown all of those things. The worry I push from my mind everyday, wondering "what if he gets hurt" or "what if something happens to me; who will love him as completely and unconditionally as I do?" So you see, for that brief moment, the world is a perfect place, because of your smile, your perfect smile."
