B&W Family Traditions

by MamaK321Aug 27, 2004
What a relief to finally have this page done. It's been 3 days working on it, changing ideas and designs every day! I found these B&W photos that dh took in Monterey, CA back when he was at DLI before we were married. I just love Monterey, it has a special place in my heart and the memories spent there. This is a summary of the journaling, printed on vellum and adheared to the backside of the accordian books that fold out, revealing more photos.

[It's a family tradition every summer, going to Monterey. We've had some crazy times; finding a bomb on the beach -it was a dud; finding a baby shark washed ashore; spending nearly an entire day digging up an old row boat that had been almost entirely burried, just to set it to sea and have it sink again; the many many childhood friends we'd taken along throughout the years... Now, I am passing this tradition on to my children. The experience of a summer at the beach.]

Bazzill

Rusty Pickle -white script

7Gypsies -black script

Making Memories -alpha page pebbles (family)

-pewter eyelets

BoBunny -Thoughts white sticker words

Colorbok -my type (monterey)

Blue Moon Beads -tied on ribbons

sand dollar charm from A Charming Place

"vacation" tag from Eyelet Outlet

ribbons from swaps

(I scraplifted the idea for my "Traditions" definition. I saw it on a lo using a different word but now I can't find where I had seen it. So I don't know who to thank)

-- those fat beads made it very hard to scan, it looks so much better IRL. And sorry for the poor photo quality but I wanted to show what the accordian book looked like folded out. They are very simple to make!
