The more I worked on this layout, the weirder it got. I finally decided to quit while I was ahead. The journaling explains the title. I made the dots of paint by using pencil erasers.
Journaling:
When the new "Monkey Trails and Forest Tales" exhibit opened at The Zoo in the spring of 2005, we were excited and anxious to see what had been created. We had watched the construction for over a year and couldn't wait to see the monkeys in their new homes.
Thomas' interest was piqued further when a friend of his from kindergarten went to The Zoo, saw the new exhibit, and then reported to the class that he had seen "Rainbow Butts" there! Rainbow Butts?? The words themselves sent Thomas into fits of laughter and giggles.
So, armed with a camera and snacks, off we went in search of the Rainbow Butts. We had no idea which monkey might fit this description, but once we caught sight of a male mandrill, we knew we had found them! My children danced around happily singing "Rainbow Butts!" as I snapped pictures. Another successful safari!
Materials:
Cardstock: Bazzill
Patterned papers: K&Co (background), Basic Grey (multi-stripe)
Letter stickers: American Crafts
Rub-on letters: Imagination Project (Center City Designs)
Chipboard brackets: Basic Grey
Assorted chalk inks (Colorbox) and acrylic paints
Thanks for looking!
