When will she learn?

by BertaApr 26, 2006
This has been half way doen on my desktop FOREVER it seems. It just didn't translate out of my brain quite the way I wanted. I finally got it finished up this morning. The black bacground is from Kim's 'From This Moment' Kit, everything else is from 'Punch it Up!' Black 'when' is Nancy Rowe Janitz's Schmootzy Alpha.

She was nine years old and still couldn’t ride her bike. I had seriously given up hope. Have you ever tried to help an 85 pound child balance a bike? Chased after them holding the seat? I don’t recommend it if you haven’t. Santa brought Tori a scooter for Christmas 2005. That first day on the scooter she finally learned how to balance. She whipped around like she was born with two wheels attached to her feet. But the mastery of the bicycle remained elusive. Encouraing her to try only frustrated all involved parties. So, I finally just let it go. After her ninth birthday party her friend, Haley stayed over for a few hours. I left the girsl out front taking turns on Tori’s scooter. Tim came bounding up the stairs and told me to look out front at my girl. As I peeked out my window I saw her confidently peddling her bike while her beaming friend watched. When I asked her why today was finally the day, she just shrugged her shoulders and replied:
“I was ready.”
