- Contests & Challenges

This is for the March Scrap Your Life Challenge, scrap something sad. My mom was diagnosed with Breast Cancer in November, and since then it's been an extreme journey. Good news is she's healing and she does not need chemo. So happy!!
I used the following materials:
Cardstock and chipboard letters: Bazzill
Flowers: Prima
Heart Bling: unk.
labels: Around the Block
Magic Mesh
Journaling:
My mom was diagnosed with Stage 1 Breast Cancer in November 2008. She had her routine mammogram and there it was…a lump to be removed in her right breast. She had a lumpectomy,
but was told that the margins were not clear so she had to go back in for her second lumpectomy. Mom was told again that the margins weren’t clear and she was also informed that the lump that was discovered on this year’s mammogram was actually missed on last year’s
mammogram. She’d had cancer for over a year. She decided to have a MRI, and those results formed her decision to have a double mastectomy. I did not handle the news well, and her journey through this was really hard for me, maybe because I’m the “baby” of the family…but I shed a lot of tears and worried quite a bit. These last three months have been ones I hope to never repeat again. She is healing, and some days are hard for her. Her strength is amazing. I have been so inspired by her, she says that not all days are good days but the good ones are great. I love my mom so much. She is a survivor.
