I love the drive through the Delta Region because a large part of the area has literally remained unchanged for years. One thing that is changing, however, is that they tearing down the older structures to make way for the brick and steel buildings. BAH! I love the old wooden barns, sheds and especially the old shanties. On a recent trip to Memphis we got out and took photos of this one...

MLee, this is absolutely beautiful; the photos, colors but most of all, your journaling. I didn't know these type of houses had a nickname and your journaling has made something that may appear old and useless into something strong and representing America

What I like about your composition: great photos with a mix of sizes, placement with some overlapping of graphics and text, the thoughtful downward pose of the young man's gaze direct eyes toward the journaling, the slight tilt of the journaling page and the way you cropped one side of it to look like it was torn out of a small notebook, the colors you chose for the background and text complement the photos without detracting from them.
