Calvary

by MLeeApr 4, 2010
For the faithbooking challenge - I've had this photo for a while. It's at the top of Mt. Sequoya in NW AR. The opening between the mountains in the background is part of the Trail of Tears taken by the five tribes, including my ancestors - the Creek - from Georgia on their way to Oklahoma. I visit this site every time I go to Fayetteville.

Beautiful layout! Your description is so powerful and really brings so much to the layout. I study it is so much more and am embraced in all of it! That photo is absolutely breath taking and you brought it to life with the gorgeous colors and soft hues to showcase the serene and calming nature of it. Its amazing to think were our ancestors have passed through!!

Beautiful layout! Thank you for helping me remember an old hymn, "At Calvary". Although the tune came immediately to mind, I couldn't quite remember all the words. Found them at cyberhymnal.org

Years I spent in vanity and pride,
Caring not my Lord was crucified,
Knowing not it was for me He died on Calvary.
Mercy there was great, and grace was free;
Pardon there was multiplied to me;
There my burdened soul found liberty at Calvary.

Thank you for sharing this today, Easter Sunday 2010!
