9/11 Memorial

by gonecampingMar 27, 2013
To me this feels kind of plain but that is the look I was going for. I wanted the pictures and the journaling to be the focal point. At the CK convention, we bought the epiphany tool (actually between the 3 of us we bought all of them lol) that does the bottlecap shapes.

When we first decided to go to New York City to see Steve, the one place we wanted to visit was Ground Zero and the 9-11 Memorial. I made our reservations a few weeks in advance. After a long Subway ride we finally arrived. The weather was cold, security was tight and we had to walk through many checkpoints but once we got inside it was breathtaking. Just seeing the reflecting pools for the first time brought back all the memories of the attack on the Twin Towers. The mood by the pools was somber. There were families of the victims there, standing by the names of their loved ones. Some were taking pictures of their handprints next to the names, some were weeping ans some were standing in quiet reflection. It was hard to witness. All around the plaza were concrete blocks. Since it had snowed, visitors had written messages on the blocks...NEVER 4GET..PEACE....LOVE...HOPE. The loss of life in one place brought a feeling of sadness. I am so thankful we had the oppertunity to visit.

I don't think it is plain at all. I like the look. This is amazing.

This is beautiful Tanya. Love how you did the title and I love the simplicity look and feel. The photos are the star, as well as your journaling.
