oh my...well i'll just let the journaling tell the story...
Well, it’s the end of this line for you, my friend. This is the last day you
will ever ride the school bus home from Hope View. For the past 3 years, this
has been your main mode of transportation, but now that you’re off to middle
school, this bus won’t be bringing you to me at the end of each day anymore.
Right before I left the house to pick you up, it dawned on me that this was
your last ride, so I grabbed the camera - which I knew would thrill you to no end
. So there I am, sitting in the car, waiting to see the bus through the rear view
mirror like I have done so many times, and tears starting rolling down my face -
you just never know what’s gonna get ya! I was afraid that I couldn’t get it
together enough to even get out of the car and take the picture!
At first I thought that just maybe I was the only mom in the world who would
want to take a picture of her ‘soon-to-be sixth grade’ son getting of the bus for
the last time, but I could tell by the look on Eddie The Bus Driver’s, (yes, as far as
we know, that IS his whole name) face and the way he held the bus a little longer
than usual before pulling away from the curb, that he understood.
Zack, I thank you for indulging me - for standing there in front of the bus, while
your friends are looking at you, and then looking at me (crying, of course!) Thank
you for understanding that watching you grow up is bittersweet for Dad and I,
and that sometimes it’s gonna take us a little longer to adjust to things than it
does for you. I know that for you, today was a silent celebration - you’re glad you
won’t be on that bus anymore, but for me, it is another realization that you are
growing up and things are a changin’.
lol - this is a lift of me! (from a paper lo of mine i did a couple of years ago - and you know what, i got tears in my eyes AGAIN reading it - everytime, i tell ya, everytime! lol) i think seeing all those lo's in the new ck school mem. idea book got me thinkin' about this lo again...(that's a cool idea book!)
love this new fun kit from the fab. ms. michelle underwood - she's so great! sun on my face - available only here @ acot. stitches are from shabby princess' moroccan sunset. fonts are mom's typewriter, su harry paul, ck mapped out
tfl!
