i just love those lines from five for fighting song! i love the 'idea' of this lo, not sure i love the outcome, kwim...anyway, here's the journaling...
There are so many different kinds of fairy tales. Some of the tales tell of far away lands or of princesses and towers, but my fairy tale is about a real little boy. A little boy so full of good and virtue that he may just convince me that they really is a god. A little boy that came into the world, into our family, when we least expected it. We
thought our family was complete, little did we know there was an empty place within our hearts that needed filling. This is a fairy tale of a fair-haired little boy who’s smile lights up the room, whose laughter makes the gods smile, who’s hand reaches right into your heart and touches it oh so gently. He brings light were there was darkness, he brings hope where there was despair. He brings love.
This is a story about about a little boy named Nate. He is a spry, young lad that greets each morning with a grin that makes you think he just might have his day all planned. He makes his rounds, checking in with all that await him, as a king might do surveying his kingdom. The
effects of his smile on other’s is similar to the warm sun hitting your face, or a cool breeze that passes on a hot day, you’re happy to be alive.
I often wonder, what did we do so right to be sharing our lives with this boy, What magical star did we wish upon, how many birthday candles did we have to blow out so our wishs would come true? Who would have ever guessed that this one little boy would give us so much hope and happiness? Who would have guessed that he
would help his older brother’s know the meaning of caring, nurturing and patience? Who would have guessed that this little boy would give his parents back a love they thought may have been gone forever? Who would have known?
Who? Well, was it god? I don’t know, ‘cause see, I’m not sure what kind of relationship I have with god. I’m not even sure there is a god. I want to believe, because I want to know that I will be able to hold this child in my arms for all of eternity. And when I look at him, I know that I could
not possibly take all the credit. There is no way I could have created something this perfect by myself, that I know for sure! So, maybe there is more to this life than I can see, but what I see each day, looking back at me, is the most incredible little boy named Nate, and I know there is
not a better fairy tale in the world.
