I love this hidden DC gem. Located in SE DC (not known as the safest place for visitors), Kenilworth Aquatic Gardens spans over 12 acres that sits within the 700 acre park, which includes the Kenilworth Marsh, wetlands and recreational areas. There are 45 water lily ponds filled with water lilies and lotuses. And many animals too - beavers, turtles, frogs, deer, and more than 250 species of birds. My favorite are the many many many dragonflies (my favorite insect),
