Fun colorization technique used here (Photoshop/Photoshop Elements) - 'cut out' the dress part of the photo (using layer via cut), then play w/the blending modes for the dress cutouts. What happens is that the dress cut out takes on the color and pattern from the underlying papers - too much fun!
