Twilight at Colonial Beach, Virginia 6x8 Scrapbooking Layout
by amysolovayMay 12, 2023
I created this 6"x8" scrapbooking layout for Natalie's INSD DIY Background challenge here at ACOT's message board.
To create this layout, I ink blended a 6"x8" sheet of white cardstock using various Distress Oxide reinkers and ink pads by Tim Hotz + a reinker from Tsukineko / Brilliance ink. Then I used the Waves stencil by Simple Stories to add another layer of inks, plus I spritzed a bit of Distress Mica spray to add a bit of shimmer.
I made the photo frames using the We R Memory Keepers Frame Punch board and used foam tape adhesive to pop them up and give them extra dimension.
When I originally had the idea to do this challenge, I was just planning to stencil / ink blend the background, frame the pics, and put them on the background. But I did that, and it seemed like the layout was missing something. So I cut down the stenciled paper and added some dotted patterned paper as a border around the outside, and then I taped the whole thing to one of the Sn@p pages in my Simple Stories Sn@p binder.
My two photos show Colonial beach at twilight. These shots were both of the same location but were taken a few moments apart as the sun descended.
I LOVE how this page turned out! Thank you, Natalie, for the fun challenge! And thank you so much, ACOT staff, for putting this fun INSD event together. I really appreciate your efforts!
