This is perfect paper for double layouts embellished with Doodlebug stickers, borders, or from your own stash! Nice quality. Not too heavy and not too flimsy. I did an entire Valentine's album for my mother! |
So unlike the other Ella and Viv lines that I have, I did not order the entire Ocean Doodle set because I just don't have that many ocean or swimming pool photos. I bought this one because I just thought it was great and because it reminded me of aquariums and let's be honest, I'm crazy about turquoise blue. I had some Doodlebug Design dimensional layered fish stickers and thought, "How cute would they be swimming on this paper around some bathtub photos of my kids when they were little?" Perfect match! Score! This single sided, slick paper is going to be thicker than what you are used to compared to national hobby and craft store single sided 4 for a $1 sale paper that's so thin it rips if you try to lift a photo to rearrange it. This is THICK and SLICK. Be cautious inking on it and use your chalk instead to avoid smears. Really, really like this line! |
This is my second favorite paper from the Watermelon Fresca line by Ella and Viv and I'm not even a fan of green! That's how great this green striped watermelon paper is! For some reason it just makes me happy looking at it. The darker green is St. Augustine grass colored or Augusta golf blazer green and the lighter shade is still rich and fun. I liked this particular paper so much that in addition to ordering sets of it, I ordered more copies of this one and another couple. I like this even with the strawberry paper line. Something about the uneven lines feels super creative and different. I do recommend you get one copy and see how you like it. I have received so many compliments! I like to use it with Kiwi Lane templates. Don't be shocked that it is single sided, slick finished, and really heavy. Good stuff! |
Okay. It's hard to find this paper because it's under ELLA instead of Ella and Viv. Once you find it though, you'll just love it. It's great to use with Kiwi Lane templates and layer several papers from this line and it's fine just used alone if you need to scrapbook in a hurry. This green reminds me of St. Augustine grass or Augusta green golf jackets. Love this green. The colors are deep and richly pigmented. It is slick and thicker than anything you get at the national craft stores and feels very different than the major popular lines. I hope you like it as much as I do. Be careful inking though because of the slick feel versus a porous paper that eats ink. Just a fun summer line! |
Okay. This is the show stopping, 11 o'clock, standing ovation paper from Ella and Viv's Watermelon Fresca line. I'm telling you, NOBODY walks past your table when this is out!!! How could you be depressed in the dead of winter with this out on your work table? I've been tempted to slap some magnets on a couple of pieces on my magnet board just to say, "Summer's coming! Don't give up!" Can you tell I hate fall and winter? I just love this paper. When I think back to all those adorable toddler outfits my daughter had with watermelon slices appliqued and strawberries...I'm just sad this wasn't available back then. Little boys in blue jeans would be so cute plastered on this, too. It's just FUN. Single sided. Slicker than you're used to. THICKER than the stuff you get at the national chains. Do order one to see if you like it and then, get two or three sets if you do. That's what I did. Super happy with it! |
You may ask yourself why you should buy Ella and Viv's matching green with white polka dot paper to go with your cute watermelon paper instead of say, Bo Bunny's cute ones. Well, two different birds. This is super slick, super thick, single sided and matches the all the watermelon paper perfectly! Bo's is textured, doubled sided, and has a more muted finish. I hope that makes sense to you long time scrapbookers! I have really enjoyed working with this paper line recently during the dead of a cold, wet winter. It's just so stinking happy and adorable and cute. It also is a mood booster to get compliments from your scrapbooking friends! Just be careful when inking with pigment as it will smear if you aren't careful. I switched to chalk and it's been fine. Perfect for hot summer days and watermelon eating photos. |
Sweet Mama on 2015-01-18 I absolutely adore these up close strawberry seeds! Aren't they the cutest? I bought three sets of this paper on sale from Cherry on Top because I just think it's so cute. The first time, I just bought a few single sheets not knowing if I would like this brand or not. I was a little put off at first by how slick and really thick this paper was because it wasn't what I was used to. I usually use Graphic 45 (specific time periods), Authentique (textured and more muted and deeper), Doodlebug Design (fun, adorable, happy), or Carta Bella (all different kinds of moods/depths). I really do like it though! It's different but "reads" more Etsy/modern/younger. I hadn't worked with single sided paper in a long time which is weird since I am primarily a scrapbooker. Hey! It's just precious. Love strawberries! You will, too! |
Love this checkerboard picnic tablecloth with the strawberry papers! So much fun. Slicker, thicker, heavier paper than most lines and certainly most singlesided paper. Not like the thin stuff you get at the national hobby and craft stores! This is really good quality, made in the USA paper. It's also cute with sticker ants or made with your Cricut ants. Really fun to scrap those summer picnics or trips to the berry farms! |
Sweet Mama on 2015-01-18 Yes, I have the entire Strawberry Fields line by Ella and Viv and I just adore it. I purchased it to make a surprise scrapbook for a dear friend who loves all things strawberries but I want to keep it. It's just so fresh and adorable and full of summer berry picking memories! It's a slicker, thicker single sided paper than you're probably used to but it has really grown on me. This is super cute with borders made of matching papers and black chalked edges. I could write something wonderful about every single paper in this Ella and Viv set. Get two or three sets so you can use two or three papers on each page. Amazing and fun! |
Sweet Mama on 2015-01-18 I love this brand and this is one of my three favorites from the Tickled Pink line by Ella and Viv. It reminds me of Waverly wallpaper...those great stripes with clean lines. Bright yellow and strong pink just pop on those scrapbook pages especially with the lemon or grapefruit papers. Be warned that this is an excellent quality, made in the USA paper and it's thick and single sided. It's also slicker than say Graphic 45 and it's not porous like Authentique. Be careful with pigment ink and use chalk instead to avoid inadvertent smearing if you like to ink your edges. This paper hollers, "HAPPY!" |
Sweet Mama on 2015-01-18 Love the pink grapefruit paper by Ella and Viv. Would like to mention that when you search for this brand, you can't get the whole line unless you put just "ELLA" in the search engine. If you put Ella and Viv, only one set shows up. Anyway, this paper is adorable and the pink is strong if that makes sense. The yellow is more vivid in person and I just love it. So many compliments. Great to use with Kiwi Lane Design templates! |
Sweet Mama on 2015-01-18 First of all I'm crazy about lemons! Second, I love Ella and Viv paper. At first I was thrown by it being single sided when I thought about ordering it. However, it arrived and it is a very heavy, high quality paper that is perfect for your scrapbooks. I have received so many compliments about Ella and Viv paper at crops. It is NOT a porous paper not is it textured. It does have a slick quality to it which I actually like. If you are a big inker like me, you will probably want to use chalk rather than pigment ink. It took both just fine but did smear when I used ink rather than chalk. Really like this brand. |
