The set of two Spellbinders™ Junior Magnetic Placement Mat is to be used in the Grand Calibur® Die Cutting and Embossing Machine, and other die machines (NOTE: not for use with the Spellbinders Artisan X-plorer™ Machine). Metal die templates stay in place for perfect results! Position the flat side of die templates on the black side of the Junior Magnetic Placement Mat in the cutting sandwich. Do not cut into this mat, position dies to cut into cutting mats.
GC-015 Junior Magnetic Placement Mat is great for use with any of the Spellbinders dies, but is required to perfectly cut, emboss, stencil and deboss all of our Imperial Gold die templates. Cut and emboss sandwiches are as follows:
Cutting Sandwich (stack from bottom to up): 1. Spellbinders Base Plate A; 2. Spellbinders Magnetic Placement Mat; 3. Imperial Gold die (cut ridges up); 4. Paper/Cardstock/Foil/Etc.; 5. Spellbinders Cutting Plate C
Embossing Sandwich (stack from bottom to up): 1. Spellbinders Base Plate A; 2. Spellbinders Magnetic Placement Mat; 3. Imperial Gold die (cut ridges up & media still inside); 4. Spellbinders Tan Embossing Mat; 5. Spellbinders Embossing Plate B
Make frames by nesting more than one Nestabilities® die template inside of another, or cut several die templates at once without having them move around.

I ordered these since I use the grand caliber. I do not as yet have the new dies that require these mats. However, I wanted to use them to keep my dies from shifting around. I also ordered the new sizzex magnetic platform to use with my BigShot. These are very thin mats. I don't like that you must lay the mat on top of the A plate then the die face up, then the paper - soooo the magnetic mat holds the die in place but the paper is free to shift around. You can't reverse the sandwich as then you would be cutting down in to the mat - which would destroy it. So all in all I much prefer the sizzex magnetic platform since I can really keep my paper positioned and my die positioned. When I get the new Spellbinders dies that require the mats I will write another review.
