Shadow Boxes: NOT just for your walls anymore!

Come take a peek at what the digital CT has created this week!

Amy Teets, an ACOT Designer, describes her Shadow Box collection like this:

Glenda’s (bamablue) – “What I Love About Minneapolis” - (Used Shadow Box Set 2)

"Amy's shadow boxes are great for a collection of photos that you want  to display in a unique way.  It was especially fun for this reveal, because it makes it easy to take a bunch of unrelated photos and link them together in a comprehensive layout.  I modified mine to fit the panoramic picture and banner by copying and pasting a similar section on top of the area I wanted to erase, then deleting the "bars" underneath.”

“Okay, so if you do not already know, Abby is pretty much a chocoholic!  I am loving how these new shadow boxes by Amy Teets are so flexible - you can erase the lines (like I did) to fit whatever size picture or element you want to place in the boxes or you can just use them exactly how they are!"

Egle’s (FairyMouseMom) – “Simple Things” - (Used Shadow Box Set 4)

“Using one of Amy Teet’s Shadow Box kits allowed me to display sets of pictures from two days of water balloon fun that my children and their cousins and friend just had.  I found the shadow box versatile that I could keep a picture bigger underneath a bigger area, rather than crop my picture to fit into each individual section.  I also changed the color of the shadow box itself by placing a sheet of black paper on top and grouping it with the box.  This way, it made my other colors ‘pop.’ ”

Paula’s (saturnsvu), Digital Guest CT Member, June 2007 – “Amy, It’s Time” - (Used Shadow Box Set 6)

“Well, these shadow box templates were just a perfect way for me to feature all the different poses in my daughter's senior portrait package. The photos came last Friday - only a week to spare before she actually graduates. They left out her folio so I was looking for a way to get all the poses on one page for her. This was perfect.  I love that the colors in Amy Teets’ new kit, "Note"able.  They went so well with my Amy's pictures.”

“Unlike for my previous layout, this one I left looking like chipboard.  I like how it worked with my grouping of photos better than altering it.”

SIMILARITIES and DIFFERENCES in our "shadow box" layouts

• Did you see how Glenda is the only one who used her shadow box for a title that runs vertically?  Everyone else used hers horizontally.
• Did you see how Angie and Egle colored their shadow boxes to suit the mood for the rest of the their layouts?  All of the other layouts kept to the original chipboard look.
• Angie and Glenda are the only ones who “altered” their shadow boxes by deleting some of the bars from theirs.
• Did you notice that  Paula, Janell, Egle (for both), Angie, Glenda, and Kristi all spread out some of their pictures underneath more than one open space to give their layouts a different look?
• Paula, Egle, Karin, and Kristi attached something to the top of the shadow boxes, too.
