August Guest Paper CT Reveal – lilkoala

For the month of August ACOT is having two Guest Paper CT’s.  So that means twice the reveals and of course twice the fun!  Up next is lilkoala3.  You can learn more about Leslie and see the awesome layouts she created using some of the new Basic Grey Bling It!

August Guest Paper CT Reveal – lilkoala   Name:  Leslie “Handsy” Rachele

Family members:  I was raised by a group of friendly gophers. Hence, I’m very adept at digging, a talent that has served me well in my occupation as a grave digger. My mother’s name was Boomerang and my father’s name was Enrique Fernando Carlos de Silva. But we just called him Chicken McNugget.

Pets:  I have a dog, but I wouldn’t consider him a pet. I harness him to a red wagon and have him pull me to the grocery store each week. MUSH!

Birthday:  The birth certificate that I bought to get into your country says August 4th.

Favorite television show?  Television kills your brain cells. I huff empty Easy Cheese cans instead.

Favorite movie?  Any home video starring ME.

Name 3 of your favorite candy bars.  I don’t eat candy. I’m diabetic. Thanks for the reminder…

Name 3 musical artists you enjoy.  I enjoyed Eddie Vedder last night. Three times.

Favorite (NSR) store to shop?  Sporting goods stores. That’s where the best looking men shop.

Favorite (NSR) magazine publication?  American Woodworker. I like working with wood.

Name 2 of your favorite colors.  Pink and pink. In the words of the incomparably wise, 6-year-old Annabella, “There IS no other color.”

Favorite thing to do with your family?  Sniff things and groom each other.

Favorite thing (non-scrap related) to do without your family?  Work on my time machine. All I need is a wire hanger, and my masterpiece is complete! Then, I can finally go back to 1992 and buy massive amounts of Crystal Pepsi!

What’s your favorite scrapping tool to use when scrapbooking?  A machete that I was issued during my days fighting as a communist revolutionary. It goes through chipboard like a hot knife through butter.

Name 3 of your favorite SB companies/lines.  My favourite lines are the ugly ones. As it stands, Basic Grey’s June Bug, Daisy D’s Chloe Marie, and K & Company’s Que Sera Sera have provided me with the best fodder for both scatological and vomit-related jokes.

Name 3 of your favorite embellishments to work with.  Human hair, goldfish crackers, and gum chewed by celebrities.

What are your favorite adhesives?  I’ve rigged up my ATG to dispense grape jam. I find it makes a less-expensive and tasty adhesive.

What is your top two fave holidays?  My birthday and my birthday. I don’t like to share holidays with other people or religious figures. Or leprechauns.

What’s the one thing you must have readily available when you sit down to scrap?  A chair. Otherwise, I couldn’t sit. Duh.

What would you like the ACOT members to know about you?  Two weeks ago, Owen Wilson asked me to join him for dinner at La Viola, and I turned him down.

Here’s what Leslie had to say:  "I was thrilled when I found out that I would be creating layouts for my Guest CT reveal using Basic Grey Bling It!, self-adhesive rhinestones that are bargain-priced at just $1.99! Included in this line are rhinestone owls, cupcakes, swirls, flowers, paisleys, butterflies, and much more. Each rhinestone sticker has strong adhesive on the back, so you don’t have to worry about adding any additional glue."

"What I like most about these sparkly embellishments is that unlike much of the other scrapbooking bling out there, each Bling It! design is created using a variety of shaped and colored crystals. If you look closely at my layout below, “My Mission…,” you can see that each hibiscus flower is made up of small and large round and tear-drop-shaped rhinestones in four different colors!"

"In my layout entitled, “Hugs, Beth,” I used swirl blush Bling It! Because these embellishments are so intricate, you may need to peel the backing of each sticker off a bit at a time, adhering the sticker as you go. I think the rhinestones add a pretty, feminine touch to this layout! By the way, if you have a minute, take a look at this layout in my gallery so that you can read my journaling! It’s about how much I love my ACOT friends!"

"You can also buy packs of Bling It! that come with rows of round or square rhinestones. While these packages may lack the pizzazz of the more intricate Bling It! designs, they are extremely versatile. On my “Philly Phun on the Fourth” layout, I created rhinestone fireworks. I sketched an outline of fireworks onto black cardstock lightly with a pencil, and then I just adhered round rhinestones along my sketch."
