Ad Inspiration Challenge - By MamaK321 (Kristianne)
Paper or Digital Scrapbooking
Ad inspiration is about taking ideas, such as colors, patterns, title or keywords, theme, font styles, and element placement, and using them to create your own layout. You can break the ad inspiration down to a basic sketch, copy a prominent design straight from the ad, or you can alter a design to fit your own layout. Most ads are 8.5x11" but you can adapt the ad to fit any size. Remember, this is not a sketch and you are not required to follow every detail. The key is to really LOOK at the ad and find the pieces that INSPIRE you!

Altered Object Challenge - By JulesinParadise (Jules)
Paper or Hybrid Scrapbooking
May's Altered Object Challenge is aluminum foil. I challenge you to use aluminum foil to create an embellishment for a card or a layout or for an altered project. You must use at least a 6" x 6" piece total. And you can use more, of course. Here is what I created using aluminum foil, Ranger Alcohol Inks and a brayer.

Card Challenge - By bluejeans7 (Angela)
Paper or Digital Scrapbooking
Create a Mother's Day card with at least two different types of fabric or material embellishments. Think pieces of fabric, lace, ribbon, felt, etc. On my card I used a blue felt flower and some pretty lace!

Color Challenge - by Art_Teacher (Laura)
Paper or Digital Scrapbooking
May is an important month in my family. Besides Mother's Day and Graduation at the high school where I teach, my dear husband's birthday is in May! So, in honor of his favorite color, I challenge you to do a monochromatic layout in shades of blue! You know, I thought I had done this before, but when I checked my gallery, I hadn't, so this was my chance to use all the beautiful shades of one of the most popular colors. Can't wait to see what you do with it!

Countdown Challenge - By sarahwhithers (Jennifer)
Paper or Digital Scrapbooking
For this challenge you will create a layout using a countdown method of items. I will list five different kinds of things (eg. elements, papers, photos) for you to use in your layout. Every month there will be five new items for you to use. This month I thought of blue skies since Spring is in the air!
5 - Blue Buttons
4 - Rub-ons (of any kind, words, doodles, etc..)
3 - Word Title
2 - Blue Papers (Patterned or not)
1 - Sun Element
You are welcome to use more than these items (eg. 5 rub-ons instead of 4 is fine) just as long as you meet the required list and numbers asked for each. A page is seen below.

Faithbooking Challenge - By Keling (Sara)
Paper or Digital Scrapbooking
My Hope is Built on Nothing Less
"Many of the British hymn writers were children of the clergy or came from middle- or upper-class backgrounds. But not Edward Mote. His parents kept a pub in London, and Mote says, 'My Sundays were spent in the streets; so ignorant was I that I did not know there was a God.' He was apprenticed to a cabinetmaker who took him to church, where he heard the gospel message. Mote himself became a successful cabinetmaker in a London suburb and was active in his local church.
"Mote wrote this hymn while he was working as a cabinet maker. The chorus came to his mind as he was walking to work, and during the day the stanzas came to him. Two years later, he published it in a collection of his own hymns and titled it 'The Immutable Basis of a Sinner's Hope.' It is a hymn that combines deep biblical theology with sincere personal experience.
Edward Mote (1797-1874)
1 John 1:7-9 - If we are living in the light, as God is in the light, then we have fellowship with each other, and the blood of Jesus, his Son, cleanses us from all sin. If we claim we have no sin, we are only fooling ourselves and not living in the truth. But if we confess our sins to him he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all wickedness.

Trends & Techniques Challenge - By Megamay (Meg)
Paper Scrapbooking
We have had a lot of technique challenges lately, so I thought this month should be a trend. Since I am a fan of purple, but very picky about it, I have noticed a lot of purple around lately, gorgeous shades of purples and violets. So the challenge this month is to use purple on your layout. It doesn't matter what shade.
Here is my example, using Pink Paislee Bayberry Road - which has a lot of purple in it. Check out my last two reveals -Bo Bunny and Kaisercraft - for more new lines with purple in them.
