Wading in the Water

I could not wait to get my hands on the Seaside Retreat papers by Webster's Pages.  Living close to the Gulf of Mexico, I obviously have tons of beachy, water side pictures to scrap.  What I didn't realize until I opened the pack of paper was that this is also a very versatile line perfect for other photos as well.  This photo is of one of our litter brother cats, Goofy.  He sleeps mostly on his back and his favorite place is amongst our folded clothes warm from the dryer where we sort them on our bed. I used the Tim Holtz die by Sizzix to make the cool flowers and coated them with Crystal Lacquer to keep them curled. Pop dots give them added dimension as well.

This is one of the many pictures I snapped during the 5K Walk/Run.  Perhaps my time would have been much better had I not been seduced by the dawn on the beach and the beautiful vistas wherever I looked.  Websters must have known how much I would need these amazing papers.  I love the word sheets as they provided me with the perfect descriptors for my day!.

We have a pebbly bathroom window above our tub that I really don't like.  The only thing I have been considering besides covering the whole thing with a window curtain is replacing the whole window and substituting stained glass.  Until I win the lottery and can afford to do what I want, I created this three panel piece.  The red vellum paper that comes with the paper pack was perfect for a see through effect.  I coated each piece with Liquitex Matte Gel as this seals out moisture so the papers will not pucker or peel off the chipboard squares.  The squares are the negative of some large chipboard letters I had in my stash.

I recently participated in my first 5K walk/run.  I walked with a bunch of great gals who showed me the ropes and helped me keep up a decent pace.  The best thing about the 5K was that it was held on one of the prettiest beaches in the area, Clearwater Beach, and it started at 7:30 in the morning.  There is only one thing prettier than sunset on a beach and that is a sunrise.  Again, Websters gave me the perfect papers to scrap this first walk/run of mine.  The journal squares helped me to say exactly what I was feeling.  Thanks Websters!
