DIY Camera Mini Album Tutorial

This chipboard camera mini album from Mintay is perfect to document your memories! The chipboard is easy to decorate with paint, paper, embellishments – whatever you want! For this project I used the Vintage Artistry Sunburst collection from 49 And Market which went great with my summer photos. I’ll walk you through step by step how I created my mini album, and all the products used are linked at the bottom of this post.
(Here’s a quick video tutorial to watch too!)

The first thing I did was paint the front and back of my album. I used Stamperia acrylic paint, but any acrylic paint will work. Don’t use chalk paint – ask me how I know lol. I painted two coats of this really lovely pink, then set those aside to dry.

While my paint was drying, I worked on cutting out my papers to size. I used the 6×8 paper pack from the Sunburst collection, and then just traced the chipboard on it and cut it out. This collection has a lot of beautiful colors, but I wanted to stick to just one color palette of pinks and yellows.

Once my papers were all cut to size, I used the Crop-A-Dile hole punch to punch a hole through the chipboard and papers. (This is where I’ll use a book ring to bind them.) Then I glued the papers on the chipboard pages with my favorite Nuvo glue.

I covered both sides of every chipboard page (except the front and back covers). Now it’s time to decorate!

These pages came together quickly since they’re pretty small. I layered rub ons, film strips, and different ephemera pieces around my summer photos. I tried to keep to pinks and yellows, with a little greenery here and there.

The final step was binding the pages together! I used a pink book ring and put it through the holes I punched. So easy! I can even add more pages to this later if I want, since it’s easy to open and close.

I just love how this album turned out! Here are the finished pages.

Thanks for reading along! I hope this tutorial has inspired you to create your own mini album 🙂

Products Used:

Hi there! I’m Rachel – one of the owners and the Marketing Director here at ACOT. Kristin, the founder and heart of this company, happens to be my mom and hero. We lost her in April 2018, so my siblings and I are carrying on her legacy with this amazing business. She is dearly missed and we are still inspired by her every day.
I love all kinds of crafting, but my favorites are scrapbooking, art journaling, painting (watercolor and acrylics), and embroidery. I especially love it when I can combine some of these crafts together! Check out my projects in the ACOT gallery.

This is on my “must do list” I saw the Chippies, then the camera one and my ideas started to just take off. Thought it would be super cute to do “back to school” aka first day pictures. Great job on yours – love it!
Wow! This came out beautifully!
