Metallic Embellishments

Metallic Embellishments

Today I am using some of the products that are in the February Cherry Box! The Cherry Box is a monthly paper crafting subscription filled with curated craft supplies and inspiration. There are some Tim Holtz products in this box and I love the vintage feel they add. I was first drawn to the Metallic Rose Gold & Copper Kraft Stock Cardstock and created my page around it.

In the Metalic Cardstock pack, there are 36 pages of rose gold and copper sheets. I decided to use it with the embossing folder which is also found in this box. This paper embosses beautifully!

I am going for a distressed look on my page, so I decided to use sandpaper to go over my embossed cardstock paper. Depending on how much you sand this paper, you can completely change the look of it. If you only sand a little bit, silver will start to peak through. If you sand a bit more, some darker areas will show up.

I am working with a 6″ x 8″ cream-colored paper as my background today. Because I am going for a distressed look I splattered on some Ground Espresso Oxide Ink by applying it on a palette and watering it down with a paintbrush and painting it on.

I distressed the edges by using the distresser head on a Sizzix Multi-Tool and a Blending Tool to apply more Ground Espresso Oxide Ink. I backed this background on a piece of Charcoal Opulent Cardstock, which is also what I used to back my photo.

This box includes a whole package of Rose Design Tape, which includes 8 different designs. I used some strips to anchor the side I am adding embellishments on. The Metal Adornments Flowers and Philosophy Tags are so fun to use! I adhered them to my page using 3D Gloss Gel, which once dry, holds them in place perfectly.

I thought I needed a couple more black elements so I painted a paper Paper Lace 6″ Doilie black and stuck it behind the embellishment cluster. I also used Back Rhinestones to add a little sparkle and contrast.

This was a quick and fun page to start using the February Cherry Box on. There are still plenty more spoilers for this box so stay tuned!! heart
