Trick Or Treat October Cherry Box Layout

By Jessica Harvey

Happy Halloween! Today I'm sharing this fun layout that is filled with shakers, which are one of my favorite things to create! I'm working with the October Cherry Box for this project and it is the perfect box for all things Halloween! It has the new Halloween collection from Carta Bella, which is one of my favorite Halloween collections from this year.

Watch the process video below:

Included in the box are these really fun shaker pumpkins! I think they are so cute and add a fun element to the projects they're added to. I decided to add additional vines to my pumpkins using the small wire pieces from an earring pack and pliers

To create my large shaker element, I used one of the cut-apart pages as the back and then cut a frame out of the same paper. I added Cherry Acetate to the frame using 1/4 Inch Cherry Tape then used 1/4 Inch Foam Cherry Tape for space for the sequins to move around.

I only added a little bit of mixed media to this page using Black Soot Tim Holtz Distress Oxide Ink. I applied it to the background using a blending brush then misted the background to blend it together a bit more. I splattered over the whole page using watered-down acrylic paint and used scrap paper to block my photo and large shaker element.

I had a lot of fun with this Cherry Box and have so many more project ideas to create with it!

Hello! I am the Marketing Coordinator here at ACOT. Here I make blog posts, test out new products, show how to use them, make posts for social media, and curate the Cherry Box. I also teach art classes at ACOT! You can see all of my crafty projects in my Project Gallery. When I'm not crafting or creating art I like to garden, play ukulele, camp, hike, swim, and hang out with my family.
