Who I am. . . .
I am a crafter, but scrapbooking is my love. Even all those crocheted afghans will wear down, hopefully my legacy will be leaving my photos in albums for many years after I'm gone. I am mom to one son, Joey, and Grandma to grandson Neo. I am an X-ray technician but am now retired from that as well as retired from the PA gov't in Child Support since the spring of 2018.
About scrapping:
I have been scrapping since 1996, when my mother passed away (12/1995) with the idea I would just make two albums, one for each of my siblings since I had all our family pictures and wanted to pass theirs on to them. Well... then my son went to college - needed a college album, right? Then I went to my own photos, and next thing you know I had 30+ albums. I bought a book case when I moved to a new home by a lake that I decided I'd retire at. A flood from tropical storm Lee swept into my home, taking everything including photos, and the finished albums. I went about replacing from other family members as many photos as I could.. and now as my son says "how does one accumulate all this after losing it?" Persistence.
I love paper scrapping but I have dabbled in both hybrid and digital. I am not fond of card making but manage christmas cards each year, and I do Journal Your Christmas mini books each December. I am trying to do more ink work, but I'm OCD, and hate making the ink mess. I feel there's enough companies doing the paper designs for me.
Nowadays I scrap my surviving family photos (they were on a high shelf in the flood), Christmas photos, and whatever the family sends me to "add to the book" since we are a family half in Los Angeles and half in PA. I scrap at home almost daily, or at least organize my supplies.
