Welcome to the A Cherry on Top stop on the Altenew Blog Hop! This hop is celebrating Altenew’s 8th anniversary and we are excited to be a part of it! One of my favorite Altenew products is their floral stamps and that is what I’ll be using in my project today. I love how detailed they are and they are perfect for watercoloring, embossing, or just leaving as an outline!

The floral stamp I used was the Simply Spring Stamp Set along with the coordinating Simply Spring Die. I chose this stamp because I loved how large it was and when I saw it I knew I wanted it peeking out from behind a photo. My first step was to ink it with a stamp that would not react with water. I used the Catherine Pooler Midnight Ink Pad.

Then I began watercoloring using the Altenew Watercolor Essential Pan Set. I love using these watercolors for floral paintings because of how vibrant they are. It has colors that are perfect for springtime.

I inked the stamp up again with an Embossing Ink Pad and used Gold Embossing Powder to create a gold outline of the florals to add behind my watercolored florals. Now it was time to start arranging the page. I added foam tape behind my photo and also behind my florals so they would not be flat against the page. When I heald my photo and florals up against the white background, I didn’t think it popped enough, so I decided to watercolor the background. I used the deep red color and also added metallic splatters with Pearlescent Watercolors.

This is a photo of my mom and brother on his wedding day and I am glad I could document it in such a beautiful way. My finishing touches to this page were to add some Altenew Antique Gold Sequins and the gold foam ‘love’ sticker I found in my stash.
