How to Start a Memory Journal
Hi friends! Have you wanted to start a memory journal but feel overwhelmed as to where to start? Well, Simple Stories has got you covered with their Snap Binder Inserts! This kit will create 8 pages of designer, interactive pre-cut journal pages! All you have to do is put the pages together to create a journal! The supplies I’m using will be linked at the end of this post.

Below is a photo from the ACOT store of the kit contents so you can see what’s included! There’s a nice variety of designs, pockets, and colors in this kit! Everything coordinates together – all you have to do is put it together and then add items to personalize your journal!

The photo above is the journal that I created from this kit. I added some items to the pages using a few of my own things and the Simple Vintage Timeless Harmony Collector’s Essentials kit!
TIP: The journal pages all have holes pre-made in them for binding, so all you have to do is bind them together! You’ll need binder rings as I’ve used in my journal, or you could use ribbon and loop it through the holes and then tie a bow. That would be so pretty!

There are several pages similar to the one in the photo above included in this kit! Which makes it so easy to put together! All you have to do is line up the pages in the order you want them in and then bind them together! Then, the real fun starts as you decorate your journal and maybe even add a few more pockets! In the photos below, I’ve added a few of my own pockets!

For the photo directly above, all I did was trim down a piece of the 12×12 paper, tore the edge at an angle, and adhered it to the journal page! Then I created a “mini” journal to write in and tucked that inside the pocket.
For the page below, I took another piece of 12×12 paper, tore each side, and created a belly band. Then I created a mini journal to write in and tucked it beneath the belly band! I also embellished the mini journal with ephemera from the kit!

The cover page below was already lovely, but I added rub-on transfers to it, a handmade fabric flower, a metal piece, and a lovely sentiment from the kit! I also trimmed the edge of the cover and the last page with lace!

There are more pages that aren’t shown here that I embellished with my own handmade pockets using the larger collector’s essential kit, and it was so easy to do! You totally don’t have to add all these details, but if you start with the Snap journal kit and then embellish with the other Simple Stories Simple Vintage Timeless Harmony set, you won’t go wrong because it all coordinates together!
TIP: Once you’ve completed this kit, try pulling out some of your own patterned papers and see if you can duplicate this kit on your own!
