Meet WV Scrapper!

Introducing WV Scrapper … a scrapbooker from West Virginia who is now meeting and greeting people from around the world right here at SG! Every few weeks we will be featuring a member of our online community. We asked Kellie to take a few moments and introduce herself! 1. How long have you been a scrapbooker?
I have been scrapping for about 6 years now. My cousin got me interested (addicted). She came in one weekend and had all this stuff spread all over the table at my Aunts and all it took was “What are you doing?” and I was hooked. I started when my son went to Pre-School and still scrapping today and will continue scrapping, because I know I will never run out of photo’s to scrap.
2. What is your inspiration?
My inspiration is my family and the gals who know me here on the message board know that, my number one subject is my son Josh. At least he does not run when I get my camera out (not yet), he really is a good sport and so is my husband. My husband bought me a digital camera this past Christmas and I just love taking pictures with it. I found a way to preserve my memories and I know my son and his children will enjoy my albums as much as I do.
StickersGalore.com Message Board is my other inspiration, I have learned so much from the girls here and I just LOVE the challenges, it has really got my creative juices flowing. I am constantly going to the gallery and looking at their layouts and these girls really inspire me.
3. Do you have favorite products or techniques?
My favorite product is Bazzill Cardstock, and I can’t seem to get enough of it and alphabet stickers any shape and form they come in. I love the new Making Memories Rub-on letters and numbers they are so cool.
This past Christmas, my husband got me the Sizzix Sidekick and three different fonts, which I love to experiment with. Karen Foster, Daisy D’s, Colorbok and Bo Bunny are really my favorite; they seem to be the product I purchase the most. As of techniques, I don’t really have any; I consider myself a simple scrapper, keep it clean and concentrate on my photos. I have tried inking, sanding, and I love paper tearing and card making, I make all my cards from holidays, birthday or just to say Hi.
4. When and where do you create your masterpieces?
I have my own scrap room (store LOL). Since, I am full time working gal, mother and wife, I don’t get to scrap as often as I like, but when I do get to my room, my family tends to leave me alone for a few minutes. As soon as I sit down, it’s MOM or HONEY, I need you, it’s like they have radar!!! When I get what they need I get to scrap a page or two. Sometimes I have to tell them, please let me scrap for one hour that is all I ask. LOL
5. Do you have any tips to share for saving time, organizing or getting started?
Organization is number one, I have two of the pamper chefs caddy’s to hold all my tools, pens and rulers. Since I am not a fancy cook, I emptied all my spice jars and use them to hold my eyelets, buttons and brads. I raided my husband’s work shop for containers to keep my small supplies in and recently bought plastic containers at AC Moore and Wal-Mart to keep my ribbons, quote books, and what I can fit into them and labeled each container.
I have the wire racks from Target to keep my stock of pattern paper and cardstock and a long, wide table to scrap on. As for tips for saving time, I don’t really have any, since I am a simple scrapper I only have few minutes here and there to scrap. And I always clean my desk, if I am not done with a layout I keep everything I need in a page protector, so when I get back to it, everything is there. I did learn one thing, I never throw anything away; boxes, jars, containers etc. that I can store my stuff in and I even have my husband trained.
