We Are Blessed – Traveler’s Notebook
Here at the end of February, some of us are still documenting Valentine’s Day. There are many pretty collections for this sort of project—it’s hard to choose! I landed on Simple Stories Happy Hearts, and the colors and motifs were perfect for the celebratory mood I wanted to capture. I used two of the papers to mat my selfie of us with the fancy cake that Tim bought as a surprise.
On the facing page, I used one of the cards from the 3×4 elements paper. I love the way it captures the flowers, sweets, and cards or letters that traditionally make Valentine’s Day so much fun. It also grounds the spread with its dark background color. To both my card and matted photo, I applied a little of the playful washi from the collection. Above my photo, I created a title with alphabet stickers, stamps, and a die-cut. I love making collaged titles of this sort, and the cardstock of “blessed” provides a bit more dark color for contrast and grounding.
The label paper from Happy Hearts adds a romantic touch with its vintage-book flower illustrations, and I love that there is such a great abundance of labels on the sheet to use on a variety of projects. I typed on a couple of the labels for my journaling, and I cut the date from the word-fetti on the reverse of this paper. The puffy stickers are delightful! I chose a few to dress up my photo page, and on the facing page, I adhered the camera puffy sticker, anchored by a bit of angled washi, to draw attention to my journaling. I hope this gives you a few ideas if you’re creating love-themed projects as you get February in your scrapbooks!
