Hey Cherries. Taking Sky to the vet today for her spleen check. Sunny right now but expecting rain later. As long as Sky’s appointment goes well I’ll probably work on more cards when I get home.
Have a great day Cherries.
Rain, rain, rain....since the wee hours of the morning. Our grass is greener than ever! Usually this time of year it's brown and dying off. DH is mowing every 4 days. I can't remember the last time we had such a wet, humid summer. Picking up DGD at 5 and taking her to cheer practice. Spending the day finishing up some kit projects and getting ready for company on Sunday. DH's brother and wife will be here for the week. It's been 8 years since they came this way. We usually are headed their way. Looking forward to scrapping with my SIL.

It's also rain, rain, rain here and there has been so much flooding that we don't need anymore. Grandson Brady came up to mow yesterday. He really is a great helper. I had a Pet Scan yesterday which totally wore me out. Probably won't have results til Monday when I have an appointment with my Oncologist, but I can hope they'll show up sooner on My Chart. We have Grandpuppy Ridge today and he doesn't like to be out in the rain getting wet, but he likes to go out on our deck and watch it.
Have a great day, everyone!

Crazy rain you gals back east are getting. Our grass is pretty green and growing like crazy after our rainy days last week. Pretty nice out here. In the low 60’s while I was walking. It was dodge the garbage can day. Headed to near 90 degrees today. At least the nights cool off. DH off on an Avis run. I need to head out and finish mowing. Still working on grandsons quilt. Now everything is trimmed up hopefully the pieces go together quickly. That’s about it from me.

Good luck with Sky's vet visit! I'm hoping the rain will get rid of some of this humidity - it's disgusting LOL!
I haven't been updating because I just feel so boring lately. All I've been doing is working. I said yes to a bunch of projects hoping some people would turn down the bid but they all said yes so now all the chickens have come home to roost lol. As for scrapping, I'm working on my Kit with a Twist layouts. Trying to catch up on the pics with Santa album so it can be DONE and put away with Christmas during the rest of the year. I'm getting anxiety about how much space the albums need. Also trying to use up all the new Echo Park Christmas stuff that came in the warehouse box lol along with all the old Echo Park Christmas stuff. Maybe get started on Christmas cards too.

Good morning cherries. Yesterday wasn't too bad work-wise, but then got extremely busy at 4pm.
Got some more standards that were updated by the state, so now I need to implement those changes.
Mr. Jackson brought in a bird sometime last night. IDK how that cat goes thru 4 doggie doors to drop off a dead (and headless) bird in the living room. So before I could take the girls outside to potty, had to clean that up. SMH. Jackson, though, was nowheres to be found. Then later on this morning (an hour ago....about 4 hours after me finding the dead bird), Jackson came inside, went straight to where the bird was and meowed. Very loudly and deep too. Like he was mad that I threw away his headless bird!
Apparently he wasn't done with it!
Since I have a DAR Workshop all day tomorrow, I went to HEB this morning to get groceries for the week. I stocked up on some wine and it wasn't even on the list! A cheaper brand - Hardy's - is usually $5/bottle but HEB had a FLASH SALE. Selling them for $1.20/bottle! Ha! Take my $$! I grabbed a dozen, which means I got an additional 10% off (buy 6 or more for that deal). So that was even cooler! Got them for $1.08 each.

DH was very popular last night. After dinner, his mom called. She had gone by his dad's house to get the mail and saw that stupid notice from the City. She took a picture of it and sent it to DH and DH passed it on to his aunt so she can see it as well. Everyone thinks its so stupid. So they will get on the city's website to see who they need to speak to about the situation. We shall see if they get anywhere with it. His aunt and uncle called too, to discuss some things - especially an upcoming trip out to California to deal with the BS. Possibly in September, and then another one in November (his dad's 1-year death anniv.). All depends on work for both DH and his aunt.
Anyways...back to work for me. Hoping for a quiet work day.

LOL..have to laugh about the kitty antics. I bet Jackson was very proud of that bird. We used to have a cat that would lay dead things outside the door. They're funny!blbabe1234 wrote: ↑Thu Aug 20, 2026 11:52 amGood morning cherries. Mid 90’s and hazy today. Had a great evening with my sons last night. Made one of their fav dinners -enchilada casserole. I had offered to go get steaks to grill but lol they both preferred the casserole. And in the middle of a hot August they wondered if it was too early in the year for tater tot stew yet which is another casserole! Lol
Nothing doing today or for next couple days. August always seems so long and slow and hot
. I keep thinking is it October yet? Wishing my life away just to get to cooler weather.
Have an awesome or at least tolerable day.

Cats are very proud of their antics! They want recognition for doing their jobs. Lolol!

Our children all have favorites that we’ve cooked. It’s always time to fix what they want! Lolol! So cute!
September is only 11 days away! And October is 30 days after that so you only have 41 days to wait Charleneann!

Hello Cherries!
It’s cloudy and grey but quite a bit warmer today. A thick cloud has been hanging on to the mountain here by the ferry and float plane docks so it’s been extremely quiet this morning. I miss my birds making all their noises! I go home on Saturday.
Meanwhile I got another layout donr last night. I have enough pictures with me to do 2 more two page layouts and a single page layout. So hopefully I also have what I need to make those. I haven’t scrapped this much in over a year. Feels good!!!
Nothing else on today’s agenda. My phone is acting up and I can’t call out or receive calls so I’m really hoping Steve comes by before he goes to town. Such a hassle! How did we survive without cellphones?!

Hope you’re all having a great day!!!
