Sophie and Harrie have a once-in-a-lifetime friendship; they are each other’s “person”. As freshmen in college, they bond over their shared love of the historic Maine home, Lilymoor House. Upon graduation, they take a road trip up to Maine to visit Lilymoor together before their post-college jobs take them to opposite coasts. While there, they make a pact to come back in 10 years - with their husbands and kids - to celebrate Lilymoor’s bicentennial.
Fast forward 10 years, and Sophie is back at Lilymoor, having taken a hiatus from her job at the New York Botanical Gardens, to become Lilymoor’s head gardener for the summer, and restore the grounds in time for the upcoming bicentennial. However, Harrie is not with her, having succumbed to cancer 11 months before. Sophie, utterly bereft, throws herself into her work, which proves to be just as frustrating as it is rewarding until the day when she happens upon an unfamiliar door in the middle of the gardens. Inside, she finds an overgrown “secret garden” with a curmudgeonly man trapped inside.
As she tries to solve the mystery of the door and the secret garden - which is constantly changing locations, and some days doesn’t even show up at all - she must also navigate her grief over Harrie’s death, a goose who’s out for revenge, and an eclectic crew with whom she shares the responsibility of Lilymoor’s upkeep. And, the more she learns about the man stuck in the garden, the more she finds herself falling for him. But, how they can be together, unless Sophie figures out how to set him free?
OPTION 1: THE GREAT OUTDOORS
The crux of the action in this story takes place outdoors in the gardens and grounds of Lilymoor. For Option 1, make a page about an outdoor activity in which you are surrounded by nature. Think: hike, boat ride on a lake, sledding, etc. It should be something directly involved in nature - a trip to the amusement park, while outdoors, would not qualify.

A page from when my daughters and I explored the creek in the woods by our house, during COVID times.
OPTION 2: CELEBRATE GOOD TIMES
Everything in this book is leading to the climactic event - Lilymoor’s Bicentennial. So, for Option 2, make a page about a major celebration. It can be a birthday party, a wedding, an anniversary party, or some other celebration that is specific to your family. Just make sure the party is the focus of the page.

A celebration of life for my great uncle, which was really more like a family reunion.
