Hey Cherries. I spent all day yesterday at my computer going through years of photos and pulling ones I want to use for my mini album project. I just have a bit more to do and will end up with seven Photoshop documents filled with little photos. So many sweet memories. The next step is going to be printing out drafts and seeing if I can actually get all or most of these photos in this mini album. I keep getting these ideas in my head and last night ordered some printable vellum from Amazon, which will arrive pretty quickly. I did nothing else yesterday but go through photos. Didn’t work on my “operation cleanup” in my office at all. No plans or places I have to be today so first I must do some of that. Yesterday I started with the photo hunting first and then I got on a mission and didn’t stop. So today I really have to start with doing some of that first. Then I’ll be back on my project.
Have a great day Cherries.

Good morning. I haven't been scrapping at all since I finished those Jewish New Year cards. Just busy with other things and distracted. All is fine. I just wanted to pop in and say hi.

This sounds very intricate. The printable vellum sounds beautiful. I can't wait to see the final product - I'm sure it will be gorgeous and touching!pawprints wrote: ↑Thu Sep 17, 2026 9:22 amHey Cherries. I'm on my 2nd cup of tea but dragging today. Still trying to get my energy back but at least not coughing as much. I've been working on a manuscript this morning. I have a few projects to do here and there. I don't think I told you guys but you of all people will appreciate this. Dh's brother and sister each have old family photos and we have virtually none. SIL has his parents' wedding album from 1951. BIL has put together several photo albums over the years with classic, heritage pictures. Now that we have the scanner/photo printer...I got the ball rolling to scan all these photos. We all had dinner together over the summer and I got 1 of the photo albums, the wedding album, and a bunch of loose photos. Some of Thanksgiving 1999 (DS's 1st thanksgiving!) that I hadn't seen before! Anyway, we are having a 70th bday get-together for SIL on the 26th so I need to finish up and haven't even started on the photo album yet. So that's my plan today. This way we can give back all of this and hopefully get the next album to start on. It's a good ongoing reason to have get togethers esp with SIL's health not doing so great and having a new baby in the family.

Did some errands this morning...picked up an online order for DD, returned an Amazon purchase that I wasn't happy with, stopped at the meat market and library. Finally got a copy of Theo Golden. I've been on the wait list for almost 2 months. Yesterday I went to a local farm's sunflower fields with Katie. So, so beautiful! I will be doing LOs as I took lots of photos! Have a good day Cherries!

Nice that you are able to access all of those heritage photos and make albums for DH. Thanks, Vicki! I'm excited to do some pages with these pics. We got married at city hall and I wore a little black velvet dress lol so now I can use all my "weddingy" supplies. Also, DH is the baby of the family and I am 8 years younger than him. I'm closer in age to the nieces than his siblings. I had a very "grandparent" relationship with his parents. I only ever knew 1 of my grandmothers and neither of my grandfathers. So it was a very special relationship. And FIL was a real character. Here are some of the pics from the album. I will edit them better when it comes time to print, but they were sewn into the pages and it was nerve-wracking enough to take the book apart (post-bound) let alone take the photos out of the holders! July 1951, Bastille Day lol.

She is 25 and he is 23 but in this picture, I can see their faces as I knew them - expressions and all

But this picture...this takes the cake. At every family party, FIL would say something like "Bring out the baked ziti (or whatever), that's what everyone's waiting for!" and I thought it was just a real "Grandpa" thing of him to say/do...but here he is at 23 years old rolling out the shrimp platter in his wedding album. I just about died when I saw this picture. This is my favorite wedding picture ever now, LOL!!! I miss them

Happy Scrapping, cherries!

Probably 4 cards but I make each one different and there are not a lot of Jewish product out there. They came out well (at least I was satisfied) and maybe the US Mail actually delivered them.scrappinmom99 wrote: ↑Thu Sep 17, 2026 9:55 am
Hi, Louise! How many cards did you do? I've been told we are low on bday cards so I need to put some of those together. I found some stamp sets at the thrift store last time I went to the DDS (thrift store is right next to the office so that's the reward for going to the dentist, haha) and one of them is a birthday set that I've been meaning to try out.

Thank Anne-Marie. I get these ideas in my head and then I have to try them. We will see how well the printable vellum works out.

Wow that is great Anne-Marie. A lot of work but will be worth it for you to have those photos. I have the opposite… I have bins and bins and bins of old photos and albums from my mom's house. So many that it is overwhelming. I even have my grandmother's albums, which I scanned many pictures from years ago when I made my mom a scrapbook album all about her mother. I have tons and tons of photos to go through. One day DS and I want to start going through some of them. We looked at a lot of them when we cleaned out her house but there were just so many to go through that we would never had gotten done if we kept looking through them.scrappinmom99 wrote: ↑Thu Sep 17, 2026 11:26 amI'm on my 2nd cup of tea but dragging today. Anne-Marie my parents were married in 1951 also, and omg the wedding picture sitting on the floor with her dress spread around, I have the same exact photo of my mom and dad! It must have been something all the photographers did at the time!

Barb, once you get started on a project like that you don’t want to stop. Especially when it’s something like what you’re doing. {{{HUGS}}} I’m sure it will be beautiful!pawprints wrote: ↑Thu Sep 17, 2026 9:22 amHey Cherries. As for printable vellum make sure you print on the correct side and when it comes out of the printer make sure you let it dry for a few minutes so you don’t smear the ink!
Have a great day!
