Looking at Cole's second year book I realized I have not journaled as much as his in his first year book. So I wrote him a letter and hid it under the YOU.
Journaling reads:
October 4, 2005
Looking back at your second year scrapbook, I realize that I have not written things to you as I did in your first year book and I want to change that. A large part of why I am creating these books, is so you can have something personal from me. I want you to be able to read these and know how I feel about you.
You will be three in a month and what a cliché it is, but I cannot believe how the time has flown by. As I sit here and try to write this, so many thoughts come to mind. However, the most important thought is how much you mean to me. You have changed my life in a way that I never thought possible.
You are so cheerful, happy and sweet and you are such a momma’s boy. Sometimes I get aggravated that you will not let me go to the bathroom by myself. Then I just look at your face and how it lights up when I talk to you and I think to myself how lucky I am to have you and all of the petty little things I get aggravated with just melt away.
This has been such a fun summer, going new places and doing new things. You are such a good little man, it is so easy to take you places, and I have so much fun doing it.
This picture of you says is all. You are my happy little Dolphin buddy. You sing the Dolphin song to me, and you know it will bring a smile to my face. I know someday you might not like this team or even football but for now, this is something that I enjoy sharing with you.
Love,
Mommy
