Who Would Have Thought?
by blbabe1234Oct 16, 2015
*Music Challenge*
I was inspired by the album cover - the white background, the softness around the photo, distressed looking. I also chose to use the title "Dreaming of You" - as my subtitle.
Barb's layout also inspired me. She scrapped about it being the last photo she took of her sweet Boomer, and then the next day he got sick. You never really know when that last photo is truly the "last" photo. I know I took a lot of pics of Bear's struggle, determination, but this one photo is truly her "last" photo. Last one of her being completely mobile and independent. During her 7-wk illness, DH and I kept saying "Who would have thought?". You never know how one day someone is with you, and then the next day they are gone. My journaling states just that. My emotions during that 7-wk period. My feelings aftewards.
This layout was not easy. I had to take a few breaks. I actually had my journaling written out on a scrap pc of paper the moment Barb posted her challenge. I knew what photo I wanted to use.
Here is my journaling:
Who would have thought....
* this picture would be the last one I take of you fully mobile and independent?
* that 3 days later, on July 4th, you would slowly lose your mobility?
* that the 1st and 2nd steroid shots would wear off after only 5 days?
* that your body would reject the 3rd shot completely and we would resort to Tramadol to keep you pain free and comfortable?
* that you'd develop liver problems?
* that DJD would completely take over your joints and you'd eventually "give up"?
* that we would have to say goodbye and make the ultimate sacrifice to let you go?
* I never would have thought...
