RFT

by lilgiwifeNov 21, 2004
Well this layout was a real pain in @#$!, this is a layout I fought with most of the daty. Not real sure I like how it came out but, anyways. This is me in the Army. And the last picture on right is me standing in front of the tank. LOL seems like eons ago. Okay so here is the journaling, its quite long,

Me..In the Army? Yes thats apart of my life I hold very near and dear to my heart.I was 19 yrs old and needed money for college so I did what most people did ..I joined for the college money. But from the beginning it was a fight. The military and all of their guidlines. When I went to the MEPS station for my physical, they did not want to let me join for prior injuries that were healed. So I had to go through alot of red tape to prove I was 100% healthy.

The Army was so much tougher then I had thought! It killed me to stand there and let the drill SGT.'s scream in my face and try to tear me down. But I did it, and I loved every minute of my time in the military. Pushing myself to the max. But 2-1/2 weeks before graduation, during an obstacle course I re-injured my knee, and that ended my military career. I remember that day as if it was yesterday. Standing in front of my Drill Sgt. hearing those words, RFT, released from training. As soon as I heard those three little words I cried, I was going home. With nothing, no college money, no training, no nothing. Or so I had thought..

Before I could home there was a ton of paper work, and other things to be done.So I was thrown with this little group called RFT's. Who were in similar situations as myself. All going home for one reason or another. We made the best of our time, doing odd ball jobs you couldnt pay the average person to do. But I made some incredible friends, and met my husband. So I would have say this exprience not only changed who I was, but changed my entire life. These photographs are a reminder, that I have the capablity to move mountains, I can do anything.

Ft. God does work in mysterious ways. If your knee hadn't given you a problem you might never have met your DH!
