Journaling reads: There was no power and no heat on your first Halloween. Hurricane Sandy had hit just a few days before, and everything seemed to come to a stand still. We only had candles for lights and blankets to keep us warm. Your mommy and daddy didn't want you to miss out on your first Halloween, so they dressed you up in the adorable little skeleton costume that they had gotten for you. Then they drove you and Maddie to our house. We were so excited to see you in your very first Halloween costume, and Maddie in her Cinderella costume. And having only candlelight made it a truly spooky Halloween! Although you will not remember it because you were only 2 months old, your mommy and daddy made sure that you and Maddie still got to have a fun Halloween. After our house, they drove you over to see MiMi and Great-Grandpa, and then to see Aunt Debbie and Uncle George. They made sure that Hurricane Sandy was not going to spoil Halloween for you and Maddie! You got to Trick or Treat by candles and flashlights… and you got plenty of treats from all of us!
