Journey of your Life
by blbabe1234Jan 19, 2026
*Music Challenge*
*Prompt #26 - use a clock*
I'm a huge George Strait fan, and his songs are on a variety of my playlists. He dropped a new single on the radio back in early December called "Journey of your Life". It's a beautiful song and it spoke to me. On December 5th, my Papa passed away at the age of 93. After all the phone calls, this song came on the radio. I admit, I cried. I just couldn't get passed the last lyric - I'll be the angel flyin' by your side. The whole song describes Papa to a "T". The way he lived life, how he treated others. He was the strongest man in the world with the biggest heart.
When Barb posted this month's music challenge, I knew exactly what song I'd use. Took about a week to find the perfect photos. Papa holding me; Papa holding me and my brother in 1985; and the last 'selfie' we took at Thanksgiving 2022. I spent about a week mulling the design around in my head. I knew I wanted to use a couple lyrics that were meaningful to me:
Ride the wind 'til we meet again
on the other side of life...
You'll need to laugh alot
and keep it light...
May the simple things be amazin'...
background paper: Fancy Pants
alphas: Thickers
stickers, ephemera: Simple Stories
adhesive: Cherry Tape and Foam Tape
clock: fussy cut from paper - Asuka Studio
lyrics written using "Merlot" font on my Cricut
