This is about my major accomplishment this year.
Journaling reads:
My biggest accomplishment in 2006 was lighting the charcoal grill at Winter Island all by myself. I know it doesn't seem like a big deal to most people, but to me it was a huge step toward independence. Up until this point, someone else has always done it for me. Really though, it wasn't about lighting the charcoal, it was about doing something on my own that I never thought I would or could. That flame shooting up from the coals signaled a turning point in my life. It made me realize that I am capable of doing a heck of a lot more on my own than I ever thought possible. It was a signal to me, that I should challenge myself and the world. It was the spark that ignited a wild fire in my soul, and let me be free. No longer will I depend on others without first trying for myself. I'll never take myself or my abliities for granted. It's a small step, but a step non the less, and it's said that each new journey begins with one small step. Well, if that's true, this smoke just signaled a brand new journey for me.....finding me again!!
