Daddy Coast Guard 1950
by YankeePilgrimDec 23, 2004
Thsi was suppossed to be my fabric submission for the Super Star challeenge but Paint wasn't cooperating at the time so it couldn't be submitted in time. The fabric is the US flag that was on my grandfathers gravesite a couple years ago at Veterans Day.

The journaling reads:

My father Millard Mason McKennon joined the Navy in 1950. He served boot camp at Great Lakes, Illinois and then shipped out to Sasebo Harbor Japan in 1951. I have always been so proud of his service to our great nation. He served first in the Navy and then in the Coast Guard, retiring in 1971. The United States of America would not be the great land it is without the service of generations of my family. The McKennon men have served in the Civil War, WW I and WWII and the Korean War. How wonderful is the man who loves his God, his country and his family.
