BASIC GREY BASICS Reveal

They’re the answer to even those questions you didn’t know you had!

Ever been looking for the perfect color of cardstock, the perfect journaling spot, the perfect-goes-with-everything kind of scrapbooking element? Well, Basic Grey has come up with the PERFECT answer to almost all of those needs in their Basics line! The Basics come in White, Kraft and Manila, and the variety of products will be perfect for so many of your scrapbooking needs! For this reveal, I wanted to show you a variety of ways to use these amazing products with a ton of different colors, styles and other lines of products. I've created 8 layouts and 2 cards, and only used one little piece of cardstock on the entire bunch because the Basics are just that versatile!

For your girly needs, I combined a sheet of the White Basics with the new Sweet Summertime line from Echo Park. The Basics have some great border stickers, that's the tiny scallop over the larger scallops from the Summertime Alpha sheet. I added lots of girly bling, a Basics rub on and used a PageMaps sketch for this…I also grabbed these photos of my girls from Kristen!

Next, on Sandy Little Bug, I used the Manila Basics, along with a new doily from Basic Grey. Behind that doily is the lone piece of cardstock on this reveal…a sheet of Kraft paper to make the doily pop off the background. I love that you could do monochromatic with these Basics papers and still have enough different designs to keep it interesting!  I added some fun papers and stickers from October Afternoon to complete this layout.

Next, I used some fun photos of Jess and her roommates when they were heading out for a dance party! I used a gorgeous piece of the October Afternoon Thrift Shop line for the background, and then layered the Basics over it. The Basics make for great journaling…so many of the papers have lines on them so you can even write straight! Once I added some bright flowers, a few funky borders and lots of bling, this one has a totally girly feel.

For my next layout, I used lots of little elements…the bold, classic papers from Pink Paislee, the butterfly stickers from Jenni Bowlin, an awesome PageMaps sketch, and the stickers, graph paper and alphas from the Basics Collection. The photos are from Nicolas' girlfriend's graduation…Kate is a sweetheart, and I loved doing this page about her celebration!

For your family layouts, I combined the Kraft Basics…they are so me! These photos are the outtakes from our cute Easter photo…it took some work to get a decent one, so these are the fun ones! I added some distressing, some doilies, and some October Afternoon papers to the Basics this time…LOVE those white letters from Basic Grey!!!

Next, I found these old cruise photos…they go perfectly with the Girl's Paperie Travel papers. What I love even more though, is that you can combine the Basics for a really great layering look…this time I used a sheet of the Manila and layered it with a sheet of the Kraft…there are those awesome straight lines I was talking about for my journaling! I used the Basic Notes Clear Stamps to make my title box and again to add some interest under the stickers. How fun are those banners from Girls Paperie?

These papers are so great for heritage photos too…they add a feel of the vintage to my page Back Then was Good. The photos are from my Rainbow Girl days, and I loved the feel of the October Afternoon papers with them. The stitching and buttons really add to the old feel as well!

For the guys, I paired the Basics with some awesome new papers from Fancy Pants. I used the White Basics on this one, because I really like the crispness with the black edges and alphas. I cut up a sheet of the Fancy Pants Strips for the borders, and the star embellishment is actually one of the journaling cards that I've cut around the star and slid my photo under.

I used these papers too, for a Father's Day Card for my hubby

and also got a Grad card out of them

Lots and lots of papers were used for the making of these projects…you can check them out here!
