Putting cuteness in scrapbooking!

My scrapbooking confession….I don’t do cutesy.   Imagine my shock, then, when I saw the new Doodlebug Designs in the Shoppe, and couldn’t wait to get my hands on some!  Each of these new lines are adorable…from cherries to cupcakes, fish to frogs, butterflies to strawberries…Doodlebug has it all!  One thing that I absolutely LOVE about Doodlebug is that the color schemes stay the same, making mixing and matching between all lines, both old and new, a piece of cake.  They also have such a variety of embellishments that you really don’t need much besides what they offer to create some fabulous layouts!

Recently, i was at a party, and had the pleasure of photographing my friend’s young daughter.  As soon as I saw this picture, I knew exactly what I wanted to do with it…and it shows how easy it is to use products from their lines to mix and match.  There are brads from the Key Lime line and the Confections Line, and paper from the Sweet Treats line.  I also used some of the blue glitter letters to accent this layout.

My next three layout are all of my youngest daughter, Delaney, whose bubbly personality is perfect for these papers.

Here is a layout that I wanted to commemorate her in the year 2009, now that her kindergarten school year is ending. I hand cut some of the flowers and punched out others to add a little oomph to the plaid papers and the journalling.

I love these pictures of her learning to rollerskate…i tried to pick up on the colors of her skates, and these Doodlebug papers are incredible for that!

Lastly, I have been wanting to scrapbook her love of the water…which has been a long time coming.  She used to scream to get into the bathtub and hated swimming lessons.  She is now a little fish, and is comfortable both in a pool and on the lake (which is convenient, since we are on the lake a LOT!)  Make sure you look closely at the fishie brads….aren’t they adorable???
