January Challenges

It's a new year! I just can't believe that it's time for 2012! Here are the challenges for January so you can start the new year off with a scrapbooking bang!

Remember:

– only one LO per challenge will enter you into the points drawing

– LOs cannot be entered into more than one challenge category

– *please* only enter LOs that meet the specific challenge instructions

January is the month to review how things have gone over the past year. It is the month to set new goals and start a new year off with a fresh begining. But before I can look ahead I like to look back and see what I need to change. I have made a template for all the digital girls, and the paper girls, feel free to use it as a sketch or you can make/use your own! Share with us how your year looks.

Since we are ringing in a new year of new resolutions, new hopes, new dreams…..you must include the word "NEW" on your card cover!

January makes me think of ice and snow (even though we don't have any yet this year), and when I think of winter weather, I think of gorgeous blues and purples. Your challenge this month is to use blue and purple together in a winter layout (it doesn't have to have snow in it, though!). You may use other accent colors but 75% of your layout must be blues and purples.

Countdown Challenge by sarahwhithers (Jennifer)

For this challenge you will create a layout using a countdown method of items. I will list five different kinds of things (eg. elements, papers, photos) for you to use in your layout. Every month there will be five new items for you to use. And for this month, I want you to scrap about something cold! It can be the weather, a fav frosty treat or even your fav cold vampire. haha! Anything cold, scrap it!

5 – Kinds of alphas and/or fonts
4 – Papers – any kinds
3 – Tags and/or journaling strips
2 – Cold related elements (ex. snowflakes, ice, snowman, penguins, etc.)
1 – Picture of the cold thing

You are welcome to use more than these items (eg. 5 papers instead of 4 is fine) just as long as you meet the required list and numbers asked for each. An example is seen below.

January Movie Buff Challenge: For this challenge we'll be drawing our inspiration from a movie. I will supply you with the movie and a pic of the movie poster. The rest is up to you. And there is lots of inspiration available – from the poster, the title, the soundtrack, the theme of the movie, the actors, movie quotes, you name it! Just be sure to note in your description what it was that inspired your layout.
