September Music Challenge *WINNERS*
So many wonderful ways you were all inspired by Dolly! I have chosen two winners!

Using RandomNum, the winners are:

Winner #1
#10 Jael Luvs2create

Winner #2
#14 lisn2cats

Congrats to Jael and Lis! I have sent out your gift cards!

Thanks to everyone that played along!

So very sad the passing of Dolly Parton. Such an amazing talent. Whenever I saw her on tv or in an interview she always was so sweet and full of life. And she always looked gorgeous! l have been watching some of her performances on Instagram and I saw one in particular that was amazing. It was her performance during a halftime show at a Thanksgiving Dallas Cowboys game… in 2023! She was 77 years old! She was amazing! You would never have known she was 77 years old! She sounded great, had so much stamina, and looked fantastic! What an amazing woman she was! She will be deeply missed for sure.

So this month's music challenge is going to be a tribute to Dolly Parton. Choose anything about Dolly that inspires you. It can be the title of one of her songs for the title of your page, or maybe a lyric from one of her songs. It can be a song she has sung, or even a song she has written but that someone else sang. Her catalog is huge! Or maybe one of her album covers gives you inspiration. It can even be an outfit you have seen her wear. Maybe you have been to Dollywood! Anything relating to Dolly that gives you inspiration will be good for this challenge. If it is an outfit or album cover art that you got your inspiration from, please post it along with your submission and let us know what about it gave you your inspiration.

Open to paper, digi, hybrid, cards, crafts, planners, or anything else you are inspired to create.

Must be new.

Multiple submissions are allowed up to a limit of three.

You may combine with one other challenge that allows combining and you may also add to the Prompts Challenge if there is one.

Post your submission to this thread by September 30th and a random winner of all participants will receive a $5 ACOT GC from me!

Cherries, I had a lot of trouble getting through this layout, but since this challenge is a tribute to Dolly Parton, I choose her song "I Will Always Love You" to scrap a tribute to my sweet Twinkie. It wasn't easy to do, and although getting all that journaling out was therapeutic, many times I couldn't even see what I was typing. I miss my sweet girl so much, and this was the perfect way to honor her.

Great challenge!
I happened to be on a road trip around Nashville/Memphis when she died. I took a photo of one of her dresses when I was at Graceland, and learned later that day that she had passed. My friend and I played lots of Dolly the rest of our road trip. It was kind of nice being in her stomping grounds, as there were so many local tributes.
She has so many songs, but her wardrobe would be fantastic inspiration for scrapbooking! She always shined, inside and out.

Oh Barb!!!  I just LOVE your layout and the song you chose!  Brought tears to my eyes!  What a wonderful way to celebrate Dolly and Twinkie.  :)

She was quite the woman.  Raised by parents who couldn't read and turned herself into a beloved superstar that crossed all the boundaries.  I wonder if anyone else will be able to cross the age and/or genre boundaries...  She will be missed for sure!

What a great challenge.  Barb, your layout of Twinkie is so special and beautiful!
Everyone loves Dolly.  She was just a few weeks older than my mother and my mom also grew up poor in a family of 13 kids and on a farm. There are endless ideas for projects inspired by her and I can't wait to see them all.

Barb, my heart breaks for you and I know this layout was difficult to do. I broke down crying myself, reading your journaling.

I was in shock when I heard that Dolly passed away. I actually had to double-check sources because I was hoping it wasn't true. When I was little, I thought she was like a Barbie Doll, with her fancy wardrobe and makeup and her hair done. Anytime a Dolly song comes on the radio, I crank it up and sing along.

I love how this challenge offers so many options and possibilities.

I love this challenge. I was blessed to see Dolly perform at the Rock ' n ' Roll Hall of Fame ceremony in 2023. Dolly was inducted the same year as my favorite band, Duran Duran. She sure is something special and a true icon. I also predicted that the all-star sing-along at the ceremony would be "Jolene". I don't know anyone who doesn't like Dolly!

They announced on the news that they are releasing a doll of Dolly on Sept 15.  That will be some classy doll.

Re: September Music Challenge
OK you may think what does this have to do with Dolly! But she had a song called Train Train on her 1999  albun The Grass Is Blue, which won a Grammy Award for Best Bluegrass Album.
My friend and I went on this really cool train and there was a murder mystery show. It was very fun!

so nice of you to allow us to combine these 2 challenges. I had already opened a tab of her album art but was overwhelmed with how many I found.

Re: September Music Challenge
So, Dolly has a song titled "Mine" released in 1969 on her album titled "In The Good Old Days".  I listened to it on YouTube, such nostalgia and I have a feeling I will listening to a lot of Dolly this month.  Reviewing all of her songs it is just unbelievable the amount of work and music she has.  You can find a title for any scrapbook page in her works!  But, she is so beautiful on that album cover.

So here is my layout titled "MINE"

I love all of Dolly's music and Celebrate The Dreamer In You is one of my favorite songs.  She was a true believer in being oneself.

These photos were perfect for Keep On Dreaming! I was inspired by the title and color scheme, plus I included one of Dolly's quotes in my journaling. I was originally going to use a castle silhouette for my Sleeping Beauties, but I instead went with a rose because of the roses on Dolly's shirt.

Love this challenge and really love your layout of your sweet girl. I went with  the song title "Just the Two of Us" by Dolly.  This picture is a little out of focus but I love it so much. Pre kids, pre mortgage, just two of us in love.

Re: September Music Challenge
My second entry. I chose the duet Dolly sang with Kenny Rogers, "You Can't Make Old Friends," because it totally reflects how I feel about the group of ladies I was scrapbooking. I wrote some of my thoughts about friendship (and how shared history impacts relationships) down on the tag that slides out of the green sleeve.
