Looking for "Flat Stanley" participants
Hey gang...it's that time again when I'm searching for a "global" project for my Girl Scouts. I'm going to have the girls make a flat version of themselves and mail it out. I'm hoping to get a few dozen players.

You can participate it two ways. 1) You can opt to have one of my girls send out her flat version to you where you would take a picture with it doing something with you or 2) you could opt to swap us one and one of the girls will participate by "entertaining" your version while you do the same for ours. Each version will come with instructions and an address where to send it on to. If you have someone that you think would be interested in another part of the country and wanted to reroute them that would be even more of a surprise and special for my girls.

It would be nice to get some other Troops involved, but it could be anyone that wants to help my girls get a big picture of the world around us. We'll be marking the places on a large map that our flat versions go and sharing their experiences with the group. This will be helping to fulfill two of their Try It requirements.

If you are interested in participating, please send me a PM and we'll work something out =)

Thanks so much!

Jamie - it sounds like fun. I'll take the doll to the Mayflower, Plymouth Rock, maybe Fenway, the beach and to a cranberry bog. Should be fun to stage the doll and snap the photos. PM'd you.

Lynda, I don't think Jamie's Flat Stanley will want to go to Fenway! LOL (just kidding with you!) Actually, if you do take him, I have a really cute idea for you that I did with my niece's Flat Stanley~

pahaha Yeah...our "flat Stanley" is a Yanks fan. Try not to get her beat up at the ballpark ;)

No worries on the distance. It doesn't really have a timeline so if we could get people from other parts of the world that would be fabulous!

Hey there! I'd love to help! I've participated in Flat Stanley a couple of times in the past by having people send me their Flat Stanley and taking him around town and getting several pics of him visiting Sitka. Glad to do it again!!

I can get some pics at work...Harvard Square, the Charles River, the Yard... and then there's the beach, Newport RI, Water Fire in Providence... I'll pm you my address.

Hey Ma, I would love to participate. I don't want to swap I don't think but I would love to have one sent to me. I will be doing my internship for college this coming semester and I can take it to school with me. It would have all kinds of adventures! Let me know if I could help.

Oh, I wished you'd posted this a couple weeks earlier--DS and his boy scout troop leave for a week-long bus tour to Washington DC and that area for the 100th Anniversary BSA Scout Jamboree...it would have been hilarious to send one for a week the guys!!

We would love to do that for your troop. We live in rural PA, nothing exciting here but would be willing to find something to do.

Re: Looking for "Flat Stanley" participants
What fun!

Too bad it wasn't a few weeks ago - we had my sons wedding on Frye Island in Maine - he is a Red Sox fan and she is a Yankees fan the theme was all Red Sox/Yankees...very cute and simply beautiful! It would have been fun to have one of your flat 'stan-lenas' on the dance floor with us!

I digress, I see you already have a few New Englanders threatening a Sox game :-D And Margie - Newport would be great - I am dying to get back to the mansions!

For me I would love to partake as well...it might give me the kick I need to get back up to Maine and visit my sister on Frye Island or I could send it to my DD or DS in NC and WV respectively - just in WV to see my son's new house and went to the little veggie restaurant he works at and sat next to Michael Richards (Kramer- Seinfeld)...who knew?

Maybe we can get a photo shoot with some one famous - I guess because of the proximity to the Greenbrier Resort you can see lots of well known peeps in that area. I'll PM you too! I hope we get the updates of where everyone ends up!
