Shape-ups, Fit Flops, etc.
Just wondering if anyone has tried these shoes and if they work? I found a deal at Target with their brand for $24 (as opposed to the $100 some other brands want), and I'm hoping they will help the jiggle in my walk a little. ;) I walk Paisley anyway, so I might as well get some more out of it!

Lady Foot Locker has the Fit Flops for 59.99. Haven't seen Target's yet.

I bought Fit Flops, that's right, $60 bucks for pair of flip flops! I didn't buy them for the shaping benefits and really haven't noticed any difference, I bought them because they are so comfortable. It's like wearing a sneaker with lots of support but being able to wear a flip flop. I have five friends who bought them too for the same reason, comfort, not necessarily leg shaping benefits.

I wear them when I'm walking because they give my foot that is sore from running a rest. The balance in a different place really makes me able to keep working out without injuring the ball of my foot more. I haven't noticed any real changes in my shape from them, but my legs have never really been my problem area. I was blessed with my dad's fine legs, LOL

I wish they didn't come with his big belly, ;)

I was reading somewhere that there was no proof that they had any effects other than they tend to make you walk more and in that way get more exercise and get in better shape

Hum, sadly I've never heard of them, but then I'm not young like most of you so I'm not up with all of the current fashions and fitness stuff. :?

I bought the shape up sneaks and have had them a little over a month... I felt a difference in my calves within an hour. Mind you, I have mostly been wearing them around the house when I am running around cleaning. They have about an inch and a half chunk to them and you can feel the ball in them, I feel myself rocking back on my heels sometimes. That is why I don't wear them IN PUBLIC - I am a klutz!!! Afraid I will land on my a$# in Walmart :winkb: But, they definitely work. My reasoning for getting them was I am always running around busy, yet never have the time to exercise - these are supposed to kill two birds with one stone! I think they are doing the job :-D

My chiropractor is a great resource for this kind of info.

He said they are a great GIMMICK. Just be sure you have good fitting shoes with great support.

These shoes remind me of the walking boat. When I ruptured the tendon in my foot. Once u get use to that rocking motion...you make great strides! But, I for one am not into spending all that money.

The cost is why I got the ones from Target! They are the same shape, etc. and they were only $24! Even if they don't work they are very comfy and they seem to be helping my lower back (lots of cushioning).

A friend of mine has the Sketchers brand, and she told me that they made her calves hurt - the type of soreness you feel after a tough workout. She said that made her think they were working. It made me think that she needs a better pair of shoes.

I think they are kind of ugly, to be honest...

Oh, they're ugly alright! But I don't mind! The reason her calves hurt is because they have to stretch a little farther to make the heel land first...normal when you have a negative heel in your shoe. I remember that from the Earth Shoes of the 70's little girl, so don't get sassy! If you want to see ugly shoes, you need to google Earth Shoes! :winkb:
